Wick CC Pre Season report

May 2022

Nets has been in full swing and talisman Kenny is mastering the bamboozler and prototyping some new mottos: victims may not have ‘sweet like a chicken’ echoing through their head this season. We are netting on Tuesdays at 6 in Corntown (thank you Vale CC comrades) if you fancy joining.

We are also grateful to Martine at the Lamb and Flag for arranging new Wick CC tops for the season- a fresh look for 2022. Karl ‘they’re at the printers lads’ Marsh acted as chief liaison officer arranging the sizes, let’s just say the average Wick player is carrying a bit of timber as we head into the Summer. Chairman Math congratulated the squad on wintering so well.

We are also touring this year for the first time since we reformed to Ross on Wye. The much anticipated tour is in the (safe) hands of Andrew ‘Rain-dance’ Westlake so big thanks to him for putting this together. The scourge of touring, people putting family commitments first, has meant we are slightly under subscribed so get in touch if you want to join – Saturday 25th June jolly boys outing for a Sunday 26th June game.

In other news Russ has moved into Oz’s old house, somewhere steeped in cricket tradition …as it’s next door to the Dixons.
